Great so far!
Really comfortable pants that are warm and water resistant, we haven’t tested water proofness yet. They fit slightly small in the waist and otherwise true to size. My daughter is a small 8 year old and we got size 8, they will fit for this season. She attends forest school and they are great because they are more comfortable and warm than typical rain pants with many layers underneath. We are very happy with our purchase!

These fleece lined pants are godsend - specially springtime in Alberta, when snow pants are too warm and not enough waterproof. Kiddo loves to spend time on slides or slopes, and his bum stays warm and dry. Great quality

Great outdoor pants
Excellent quality and very practical for playing outside in all sorts of conditions. I do find that the waist is fairly tight even though the legs are plenty long, so be aware of that and size up if you have a rounder kiddo. Long legs are not an issue since the elastic cuff keeps them out of the mud.

Best transitional pants!
The best VK pants. I always get new ones when the previous ones become too small. They are really easy to put on and stay up well, thanks to the wide elastic waistband and cuffs. There are no buttons, zippers, or adjustments, just a simple and functional design. The material is soft and suitable for mild weather, and you can layer underneath when it cools down. I especially appreciate the durability of the fabric. Even after active outdoor use, I have always been able to sell the pants in good condition to another child. Many other users have had the same experience. I also like that the design is always the same, so I can purchase them again for many years without having to search for new pants. A good product shouldn't be changed just for the sake of renewal. The size is relatively generous in Reima style, and the pants can last through two transitional seasons.

Favorite cool weather pants.
Favorite hiking and playing pants for any fall/spring/cooler summer weather. They are also great in winter when worn over a base layer, if we don't want to wear a full snow suit. The quality is excellent - we recently spent an hour sliding on a slab rock, and there were no tears to the fabric at all. I especially love the adjustable waist, which is perfect for my tall and slender child.

I'm so disappointed that the softshell overall is not available in sizes larger than 128. However, in second place, these pants are perfect for skiing in the spring. They resist water quite well before getting wet. If they had foot loops and waterproof seams, they would be a 5+. They may be a little short in the legs, but they have a nice fit and an adjustable waist.
